Local FOP backs Spolarich for judge

Posted

The Baldwin Memorial Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #90 announced they are formally endorsing Aaron Spolarich for Judge of Montgomery County Superior Court 2. Spolarich filed in January for the Republican nomination for Judge.

Spolarich said the endorsement is particularly meaningful due to his work in the Montgomery County Prosecutor’s Office. Spolarich has served as the deputy prosecuting attorney assigned to Superior Court 2 since July of 2015.

“Building relationships with our law enforcement officers in the Crawfordsville Police Department, Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office and Indiana State Police is one of the most rewarding parts of my work. Since I joined the prosecutor’s office, I have worked to strengthen the bond between law enforcement and the Prosecutor’s Office to make Montgomery County safer.”

The Fraternal Order of Police is the world’s largest organization of sworn law enforcement officers. The organization has 330,000 members across 2,100 lodges.

Lodge #90, based in Crawfordsville, released the following statement of endorsement:

The Baldwin Memorial Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #90 is pleased to support Aaron Spolarich in his bid for Superior Court Judge in Montgomery County. During his years in the Prosecutor’s Office, Spolarich has built a great rapport and respect among our Lodge members. Spolarich has a tremendous respect and understanding of the law. This knowledge has been a strong resource for our members during his time as Deputy Prosecutor. His resume includes service in thousands of cases and multiple courtrooms, including extensive involvement in our Veterans’ Treatment Court. We believe this service makes him an excellent candidate for Judge. We are confident Spolarich’s rulings would be based in fact, fairness, and respect for the laws we are tasked to enforce daily to keep our community safe.
