Local man facing child porn, exploitation charges

Posted

A Crawfordsville man is facing child pornography and child exploitation charges.

Randall McIntyre, 59, was arrested Wednesday after the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office executed search warrants and recovered electronic devices belonging to McIntyre. He was interviewed by investigators and subsequently arrested on charges of possession of child pornography, a level 5 felony, and child exploitation, a level 4 felony.

According to information released from the sheriff’s office, the charges against McIntyre stem from a cyber tip local authorities received Nov. 18, 2022 from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children regarding an online account that contained videos of child pornography.

After a thorough investigation by the sheriff’s office, it was determined the account belonged to McIntyre.

Following McIntyre’s arrest, he posted a $3,000 cash bond and was released from custody. McIntyre is expected to make an initial court appearance in late January. The sheriff’s office expects additional charges will be filed in this case.

The MCSO is a member of the Indiana Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force and conducts investigations into the online exploitation of children. The sheriff’s office was assisted by the Crawfordsville Police Department.
