Mable Alice (Wagoner) Hesler Myers, 98, of Hillsboro passed away peacefully at 6 a.m. Wednesday, March 17, 2021, in her home surrounded by family and friends.

Mable was born June 8, 1922, in rural Hillsboro, to the late Ransom Eden and Dott Ann (Rusing) Wagoner. She formerly attended Wallace Schools and graduated from Hillsboro High School in 1940. She married Max Myers of Wallace on April 12, 1942, at Hillsboro. They were married 58 wonderful years before his death on Aug. 11, 2000. After World War II Max and Mable lived on the Myers’ family farm near Wallace. In 1978, they retired and moved to Hillsboro.

Mable was a faithful member of Phanuel Lutheran Church at Wallace where she taught Sunday School and was very active in the Ladies Aid.

Her greatest joy was spending time with her family. She loved her home, making spectacular Christmas ornaments, reading, doing jigsaw puzzles, mushroom hunting, playing Skip Bo and taking golf cart rides. She was an avid Indiana Pacers fan.

She is survived by daughter Brenda (Joe) Cook, Indianapolis; son-in-law Tim Pelfrey, Covington, Kentucky; four grandchildren, Doug (Michele) Cook, Lori (Dustin) Bazemore, Todd (Kristen) Pelfrey and Tess (Justin) Ocean; five great-grandchildren, Reagan, Harrison, Teddy, Sadie and Colton; three step-great-grandchildren, David, Annie and Elliott; one step-great-great-grandchild Meredith; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by an infant son; her husband Max; and daughter Betsy Pelfrey.

A public gravesite service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Monday, March 22 in the Wallace Lutheran Cemetery, with Pastor Kelly Nelson of the Christ Lutheran Church in Crawfordsville officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to Wallace Lutheran Cemetery, LCC K9 Comfort Dog Fund/Lutheran Church Charities Comfort Dog Ministries or Hillsboro Volunteer Fire Department.

The family wishes to thank Mom’s village of caregivers, neighbors and Franciscan Hospice for their love and support.
