Mary Lou Haderle, 96, of Lafayette passed away Wednesday, Dec. 20, 2023, at St. Anthony Healthcare of Lafayette.

She was born April 1, 1927, at Frankfort, to the late William Harley and Clara Bell (Ferguson) Carter. Mary was a graduate of Brookston High School and attended Purdue University.

Her marriage was to Robert G. Haderle on March 8, 1947, at Brookston. Robert passed away March 15, 2015.

Mary Lou was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of LDS. She was a homemaker and farm wife while Robert farmed in Tippecanoe and Montgomery counties.

She enjoyed crocheting, word search books, quilting, and puzzles. In her younger years she loved gardening, cooking and canning.

Mary Lou is survived by daughters, Kathrine (Alan) Bol of Lafayette and Karma (Fred) Boyd of Florida; sons, Maclin (Paula) Haderle of Florida, Mark (Chris) Haderle of New Richmond and Matthew Haderle of Crawfordsville; sister-in-law Helen Carter; five granddaughters, Kristen (Chip) Romanovich of West Lafayette, Valerie (Mike) Walden of New Richmond, Stephanie (Justin) Mefford of Crawfordsville, Krystal Haderle of Florida and Kayla (Kevin) Marin of Florida; nine grandsons, Shawn (Kelly) Snyder of Romney, Scott (Sherri) Snyder of Darlington, Ryan (Cindra Chastain) McCormick of Crawfordsville, Aaron (Teresa) Haderle of Florida, Justin (Stephanie) Haderle of Darlington, Nathan (Tanya Wilhoit) Snyder of Crawfordsville, Brandon Haderle of Lafayette, Eric (Danielle) Haderle of Florida and Kyle (Kristen) Haderle of Florida; 19 great-grandchildren; 15 great-great grandchildren; and several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren. 

Preceding her in death along with her husband and parents are two infant sons; siblings, Ruth Flack, William Carter, Thomas Carter, Charles Carter and Richard Carter; three sisters-in-law; and four brothers-in-law.

Friends may call from 9 a.m. (EST) until the time of funeral service at 11 a.m. (EST) Saturday, Dec. 30 at The Church of Jesus Christ of LDS, 3224 Jasper St., West Lafayette, IN 47906. Interment to follow in Brookston Cemetery.
