In the loving memory of Mary Lou Hunt, 89, who passed away on March 20, 2024, surrounded by loved ones. She now rests in the embrace of our Lord.
Born on Dec. 8, 1934 to the late Modena and Robert Gavin in Indianapolis, IN. Mary Lou married Donald E. Hunt (1931-2015) in 1956 in Brownsburg, IN. Mary Lou was a faithful Catholic whose life was a reflection of her devotion to God. She found peace and strength in their faith and was a cherished member of St Bernard’s Catholic Church.
Mary Lou lived a life of service, touching the hearts of many with her kindness and love. She will be remembered for being a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, as well as a dedicated nurse of over 50 years.
Mary Lou is survived by her two siblings David (Sandy) Gavin of Shreveport, LA, Jane Gavin of Greenfield, IN - her three children, Kevin (Alice) Hunt of Holiday, FL, Julie (John) Hardaway of Laguna Niguel, CA, Sheila (Kevin) Roy of Montgomery, IN - her seven grandchildren, Gavin and Andrew Hunt, George, Geoff (Steph), and Callie Hardaway, and Rebecca (Bobby) and Duncan Roy - her two great-granddaughters Leni Lou Hardaway and Mia Louise Gaard, who find solace in the knowledge that she is now in the presence of our Heavenly Father.
A private family funeral Mass will be celebrated in honor of Mary Lou.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Montgomery County Free Clinic, a cause that was dear to her heart.
