The Montgomery County Visitors Bureau has canceled the inaugural Crawfordsville Porchfest scheduled for Saturday due to unfavorable weather forecast for the day.
Organizers said they made the decision after consulting with the National Weather Service in Indianapolis and were advised that rain is expected for most of the day with little improvement in the forecast.
The free downtown event was to feature live music on neighborhood porches, including performances by Elias Gomez, a contestant on Season 28 of “The Voice,” along with Kenn and Keller, Kacey Burton and Drew Lasley. Food vendors and a children’s area at Kathy Steele Park also were planned.
Organizers thanked the musicians, porch hosts, sponsors, volunteers, vendors, city partners and community members who helped plan the event over the past several months. The visitor’s bureau said it hopes to bring the community together at future events.
