Groups and organizations interested in participating in this year’s annual Christmas parade in downtown Crawfordsville are invited to attend one of three meetings to learn about the event.
Stacy Sommer, executive director of the Crawfordsville/Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce, asks that one representative from each organization planning to participate in the parade attend one of the following three mandatory meetings: 9 a.m. or 3:30 p.m. Nov. 15 or 9 a.m. Nov. 20. All of the meetings will be conducted on the third floor of the Fusion 54 building, 101 W. Main St. Parade details and rules will be shared with participants during these meetings.
Participation in the Chamber’s Christmas parade is open to the public.
Trophies will be awarded to first, second and third place entries in both the adult and youth divisions. Registration to participate in the parade can be found online on the Chamber’s website, www.crawfordsvillechamber.com. Each organization must provide a certificate of insurance and all participants must sign a waiver.
“We look forward to seeing the floats and smiles on everyone while spreading cheer in our community,” Sommer said.
This year’s parade takes place at 2 p.m. Dec. 3. The theme is “Home for Christmas.”
The parade route will again travel through historic downtown Crawfordsville, primarily along East Main Street, turning south on Washington Street. The event also includes commentary about each entry in front of the Montgomery County courthouse.
The parade’s title sponsor is Hoosier Heartland State Bank. Santa’s sleigh will be powered by Acuity Brands and the Spirit of Christmas is Stevenson’s Ace Hardware. Float judges will be representatives from Crawfordsville Electric Light & Power, Lakeside Book Company and Tri County Bank & Trust. The sound sponsor is Turn It Up Sound Productions.
