Montgomery United wins annual Golden Lion Invitational

LINDEN — Eight marching bands participated Thursday in the Fifth annual Golden Lion Invitational hosted by North Montgomery High School.

The title sponsor was the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 1005 of Crawfordsville.

Eight bands participated, including Cardinal Ritter High School of Indianapolis, Frankfort High School, The Sounds of the West Side from West Lafayette, Tri-West Marching Blue Alliance from Lizton, Crawfordsville High School taking fourth place, Western Boone High School taking third place, Frankton-Lapel Community Marching Band from Lapel taking second place, and the Montgomery United Marching Band taking first place.

Band booster president Natasha Headdy puts in many hours coordinating the logistics for this event. She is also immediate Past Madam President of the Crawfordsville Eagles Auxiliary 1005.

Presenting the first place awards to the Montgomery United Marching Band were Alan Homsher, president of Crawfordsville Aerie 1005, and Johnna Williams, madam president of Crawfordsville Auxiliary 1005.
