New Richmond recently held a ribbon cutting ceremony, marking the official opening of its new playground. The ceremony, which dedicated the playground to the children and families of New Richmond and the surrounding area, was attended by representatives of several organizations that supported the project. Major funding for the project was provided by Bane Welker Equipment; Fox Paving and Construction; Hoosier Heartland State Bank; Midwestern Engineers Inc.; Montgomery County Community Foundation (represented by Cheryl Keim); New Richmond Christian Church (represented by Jim Wininger); Nucor Steel Inc.; Tipmont REMC; Tri-County Bank and Trust (represented by Eric Pavlicek and Isaiah Foster); and Valero Renewable Fuels Co. Also present was Justin Moos from PlayPros, the company that designed and built the playground. A second ribbon cutting ceremony was held to allow the children of the community to participate in the dedication of their new playground.
