LAFAYETTE — North Montgomery boys track and field team placed third in the Lafayette Jefferson sectional. The Chargers placed in the top three in six events with two champions.
Chargers Clayton Brown and Eli Peebles tied to win the long jump with jumps of 20:5.5.
Peebles also placed second in high jump (5-10).
Other Charger placings were Drew Dark, second place 3200m (10:14.27); third place 4x100 (43.90) with the squad of Dakota Glasson, Peebles, Brown, Hunter Haworth; second place 4x800 (8:28.02) with the team of Dark, Kale Mitchell, Zach Craig, Payson Frazier; and Gage Taylor third place shot put (46-0).
Crawfordsville’s Josh Inskeep placed first in the 3200m (10:10.85) and third place in the 1600m (14:42.14).
Fountain Central’s Josh Kirkpatrick placed eighth in the 3200m (11:13.18) for the Mustangs top finish.
Southmont competed in the Terre Haute North Sectional and as a team placed fifth with 36 points.
Solomon Mason qualified for the regional with a third-place finish in the 110 hurdles (16.03).
