Big Nate comes to an end

Lincoln Peirce, the creator of the comic Big Nate, will be concluding the daily version of the comic strip on Saturday, June 13, 2026.

As a replacement, the Journal Review will begin carrying Frazz on Tuesday, June 16, 2026.

Frazz by Jef Mallett is a comic strip that follows the adventures of Edwin “Frazz” Frazier, an elementary school janitor who is also a Renaissance man. The strip has been praised for its intelligent wit, gentle spirit, and effortless diversity. It has won a Wilbur Award from the Religion Communicators Council in 2003 and 2005 for excellence in communicating values and ethics.

Frazz appears in 200 newspapers worldwide, including the Los Angeles Times, Seattle Times, Chicago Tribune, and Detroit News.
