Organizers prepare for Bridgeton Civil War Days

BRIDGETON — Meet soldiers and civilians of the Civil War this weekend in historic Bridgeton. Join organizers 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday for a trip back in time.

Learn about life in the 1860s at this pivotal period in our history. Watch daily battles in the 1878 hayfield, and hear the canon and new this year watch a live cavalry charge! See drills on the 1878 House grounds, tour the Union and Confederate camps and see pioneer living demonstrations at the 1822 Case Log Cabin. Visit the Bridgeton Mill, see how grain was made into flour and pick up some of their stone ground goodies. Shop with vendors at the 1878 Barn, Artisan’s Barn at the Mill, Collom’s Store or visit the 1878 House, Old Ford Garage and Old Barn New. Enjoy plenty of good food at Collom’s and the Mill.

Come out and experience life in the 1860s in a beautiful historic setting. No admission charges and plenty of free parking. A great learning experience for all ages, fun and excitement for the whole family.
