Chargers defeat Panthers
North Montgomery traveled Monday to Riverton Parke and defeated the Panthers 11-1.
After scoring six runs in the third inning, the Chargers led 7-0 and led the rest of the way.
Crew Cole, Jack Warren and Carter Thompson each had two hits in the game. Thompson’s two hits were doubles.
Talyn Sheldon pitched two innings and picked up the win. Cole pitched five innings in relief and surrendered one run and three hits.
North Montgomery is the host for their 2A sectional. The Chargers (19-8) will play 7:30 p.m. Thursday against Seeger (12-11).
Athenians lose to Mavericks
Crawfordsville played host to McCutcheon on Monday and fell short 3-1. Both teams had good outings from their pitchers limiting the number of hits in the game.
Crawfordsville had five hits from five players.
The Athenians used four pitchers with Jayden Jimenez taking the loss while pitching 2.1 innings.
Crawfordsville (12-13) plays in their own sectional on Thursday against Frankfort (17-9). The Hot Dogs and Athenians played two extra-inning games in the regular season with Frankfort winning both games.
Mustangs lose to Tiger Cubs
Greencastle visited Fountain Central on Monday and defeated the Mustangs 15-1 in five innings.
Greencastle used three pitchers and gave up only two hits to Fountain Central. The Mustangs had two hits.
The Mustangs used seven pitchers, a new one each inning, to help prepare for this week’s sectional. The Tiger Cubs had 14 hits in the game.
Fountain Central (6-14) will play in the Riverton Parke 1A Sectional at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday against Faith Christian (3-13).
