Rebecca Jean (Royer) Lowe of Darlington passed away Saturday night, Dec. 16, 2023, at Ben-Hur Health. She was 80.
Born Oct. 9, 1943, at Crawfordsville, to Herbert and Alberta Ruth (Mullen) Royer, she graduated from Darlington High School in 1961. Becky married Richard B. Lowe on June 3, 1962, at the Darlington Congregational Christian Church by the Rev. John Simpson.
Becky is survived by two sons, Jeffrey Paul (Rhonda) Lowe of Crawfordsville and Matthew Blaine (Nema) Lowe of Darlington; six grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Carole Ryker of Crawfordsville and Cathy Rhine of Lafayette; several nieces and nephews; close friends; and a host of Christian brothers and sisters.
Becky spent most of her years being a wife and mother, but worked a few years out of the home; Purdue University, Montgomery County School Superintendent’s Office and Heritage Bank and Trust Co.
She was a member of Whitesville Christian Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; nephew Mark Ryker; and brother-in-law Ed Ryker.
Graveside services will be held in the spring of 2024 at the Greenlawn Cemetery in Darlington. Details will be announced as they become available. Arrangements were entrusted to Burkhart Funeral Home.
