The 2020 football season is finally here.
Week 1 of high school football in the area features three repeat matchups from week 1 in 2019.
• North Montgomery at North Putnam
North Montgomery went 6-5 last year, but lost to North Putnam week No. 1 21-20 after leading most of the game. The Cougars were 8-3.
Both teams lost the bulk of their off offensive production from last season, but still have high expectations.
Chargers 26, Cougars 20
• Crawfordsville at Greencastle
The Tiger Cubs defeated the Athenians 34-6 last season, but struggled to a 4-7 record after a 2-0 start. Crawfordsville has a lot of young and talented skill players looking to make their mark, but it’ll have to wait until at least week No. 2.

• Southmont at Fountain Central
The Mounties blanked the Mustangs 26-0 last season, but both teams are looking to start the season off strong.
Mounties 28, Mustangs 12
