Crawfordsville residents of all ages will have a chance Sept. 19 to get moving, explore downtown and connect with their community during Movin’ on Main, a new wellness-focused event designed to bring people together for a morning movement and community spirit.
Movin’ on Main is a bike, walk and run event with no pressure to race. The event is designed to be welcoming and fun for everyone, whether participants choose to run, walk, ride a bike, bring the family or simply enjoy being part of the activity.
The event will give participants an opportunity to experience the community from a different perspective while taking in the energy of local businesses, the Farmers Market and the people who make downtown special.
“Movin’ on Main is really about making movement fun and bringing people together,” said organizer Jami Harrington. “It’s an opportunity for people of all ages and abilities to get active, spend time downtown and enjoy Crawfordsville.”
The event is hosted by Crawfordsville Main Street and made possible through partnerships with local businesses and community wellness organizations that share a commitment to creating a healthier, more connected community. Tri-County Bank is the sponsor of the event. Crawfordsville Audiology, Arni’s and Wabash have signed on as trail sponsors, while the City of Crawfordsville and The Youth Civic Engagement Council are supporting the event.
Participants also will have access to hydration along the route thanks to Indiana American Water, which will provide its drinking-water truck to help keep participants refreshed.
Whether participants arrive on two feet, two wheels or simply with a desire to have fun, Movin’ on Main is an invitation to get outside and celebrate the community together.
Movin’ on Main is open to people of all ages and fitness levels. Participants are encouraged to bring friends and family and make the event their own whether that means running the route, taking a leisurely walk, riding a bike or simply enjoying the morning in downtown Crawfordsville.
