Ride to benefit Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation

Posted

A benefit ride to help a national childhood cancer foundation is set for Sept. 9.

The local Applebee’s restaurant and the Ben Hur Car Club are partnering to host the event. Each year Applebee’s raises millions of dollars for Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation.

Registration begins at 10 a.m. at the restaurant at 1516 Washington St., with kickstands up at noon. Cost is $20 for bikes and cars.

Participants will cruise through many small towns within the county, and end at Kickin’ Axe, 1428 Darlington Ave. At that location there will be food, a lemonade stand, door prizes, 50/50 drawing, a DJ and a night car show.

All proceeds raised will go to the foundation.

Local Applebee’s employees intend to present a gift to a local child who is battling cancer.

For more information, call Applebee’s at 765-361-8711 and ask for a manager.
