The Town of New Richmond is creating Hurt Memorial Park in honor of Roger Hurt who was a long-time resident of New Richmond. Prior to his passing in 2003, Hurt donated property (on Osage Street) to the town for the current and future children of New Richmond. On Oct. 5, a flagpole is scheduled to be installed. The next project will be a memorial plaque honoring Hurt. Future plans are for picnic tables, benches, gazebo, and updated playground equipment for the children. Total costs are expected to be in excess of $10,000. Donations may be made to the Town of New Richmond and earmarked for Hurt Memorial Park.
