Sectional brackets revealed

The IHSAA released the brackets for the 110th annual boys’ basketball state tournament on Sunday.

In Class 2A Sectional No. 38 at Western Boone, Fountain Central (10-13) will play the host Stars (10-11) in the second quarterfinal game on Tuesday, March 3 at 7:30 p.m. Clinton Prairie (16-4) awaits the winner in Friday’s second semifinal.

On the other side of the bracket, Rossville (15-6) will play Carroll (Flora) (12-8), with Seeger (9-12) waiting in the first semifinal.

Fountain Central is 0-3 against the sectional field, including a 66-41 loss to Western Boone on Dec. 21. The Mustangs end the regular season Tuesday night against Clinton Prairie.

In Class 2A Sectional No. 43 at Southmont, the Mounties (6-13) will play North Putnam (11-11) on Tuesday, March 3 at 7 p.m. in the quarterfinals. The winner will play Cascade (8-13) in Friday’s first semifinal.

On the other side of the bracket, South Putnam (5-17) will play Riverton Parke (10-11) in one quarterfinal, while Parke Heritage (19-3) and Cloverdale (8-14) will meet in the other on Wednesday, March 4 — with the winners to meet in Friday’s second semifinal.

Southmont is 0-3 against the sectional field, including a 66-56 loss to North Putnam on Nov. 27. The Mounties play Parke Heritage on Tuesday night.

In Class 3A Sectional No. 25 at Greencastle, North Montgomery (11-10) received a bye to Friday’s first semifinal, while Crawfordsville (12-9) will play Tri-West (9-11) on Wednesday, March 4 at 6 p.m.

The Chargers will play the winner of Frankfort (5-15) and Greencastle (15-6), who play at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, March 3. North Montgomery is 1-3 against the sectional field, including a 70-59 win over the Hot Dogs on Feb. 14. The Chargers end the regular season by hosting the Tiger Cubs on Friday.

The winner of the Crawfordsville/Tri-West rematch will play the winner of Danville (19-2) and Monrovia (17-5) in Friday’s second semifinal. The Athenians are 3-2 against the sectional field, including a 79-63 win over Tri-West on Feb. 14.
