Athenians fall to Tiger Cubs

The Crawfordsville softball team dropped a 18-1 five-inning game at Greencastle on Saturday.

The Athenians took an early 1-0 lead, but the Tiger Cubs responded with 10 in the bottom half of the first and never looked back.

Laine Schlicher led Crawfordsville with two hits, while Alexus McCaskill and Briley Dillon each had hits.

The Athenians are now 0-4 on the season and at West Lafayette on Monday.

Mustangs split with Knights

The Fountain Central softball team split with Central Catholic in a double-header on Saturday.

The Mustangs defeated the Knights 11-1 and lost 17-12.

On the day, Maddie Medley, Shelby Marshall, and Chloe Golia each hit home runs. Medley hit a pair of out of the parkers with three total hits and eight RBI. Kendra Earlywine had five hits on the day. 

In the win, Kacey Kirkpatrick tossed a complete game from the circle, allowing one unearned run on one hit, walking two and striking out four.
