God's Good News For Today

Standing at the crossroads

Posted

One of my favorite poems is “The Road Not Taken” by Robert Frost. The first segment says, “Two roads diverged in a yellow wood, and sorry I could not travel both and be one traveler, look I stood and looked down as far as I could to where it bent in the undergrowth.” The last segment speaks to my heart, “I shall be telling this with a sigh somewhere ages and ages hence: Two roads diverged in a wood, and I — I took the one less traveled by, and that has made all the difference.”

Are you standing at a crossroads and wonder where God is leading you? Maybe even wondering can you trust God to give your life direction? Psalm 40:4 tells us, “Blessed is the man who has made the Lord his trust.” You may be standing at the crossroads of a great adventure and a powerful blessing. The only think keeping you in place is a step of faith. God understands as you ponder your future. Building our faith is usually a time of growth and challenge but God has brought you here. You can make the right choice. You can put your complete faith in His leadership. God has never failed to keep His promises, not even one of them. Joshua learned this, “There failed not aught of any good thing which the Lord had spoken unto the house of Israel. All came to pass,” (Joshua 21:45).

You may not fully understand what lies before your walk with God, but can be assured that our Heavenly Father is trustworthy and that the Holy Spirit is with you. He will guide you every step of the way (John 16:13). So surrender yourself to His leadership, step out in faith and enjoy God’s wonderful plan for you.

Then as Frost said, “And that has made all the difference.” Thank you, Lord for giving us your spirit to teach and guide us at the crossroads. Enjoy the trip.
