Terrie (Wood) Miller, 73, of Crawfordsville passed away Sunday, Oct. 18, 2026, at home, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born Jan. 26, 1953, in Crawfordsville, to the late Larry and Betty (Van Volkenburg) Wood.
A graduate of Crawfordsville High School in 1971, Terrie furthered her education and earned her master’s degree in education from Indiana State University. On Feb. 20, 1982, she united in marriage with her soulmate, David Miller.
Terrie’s passion for teaching was evident in her years at Greencastle Middle School, and later North Montgomery Schools, where she touched countless lives. She retired from Tuttle Middle School after 20 years there, where she inspired and nurtured many young minds. Her impact in education was profound, a testament to her unwavering commitment to her students and the joy she found in teaching.
Outside the classroom, Terrie was a vibrant spirit. She found joy in baking, getting lost in the pages of a good book, and serene Sunday drives. Her family was her greatest treasure; she relished every moment spent with her grandson, Cam, and was always her kids’ biggest fan at the kids’ sporting events. Terrie had a deep love for the beach, where she found peace and happiness.
She is survived by her husband of 44 years, David Miller of Crawfordsville; son Nick (Lisa) Miller of Colorado; grandson Cam Miller; brother-in-law Scott Mullins of Franklin; niece Mackenzie Kieffer of Franklin; and nephew Benjamin (Cassie) Mullins of Kokomo.
