A total of 12 young women will compete Saturday for the titles of 2026 Miss Montgomery County Queen and 2026 Miss Montgomery County Princess. There are six contestants in the queen division and six in the princess division.
Contestants vying for the queen title are Vanessa Schultz, Peyton Page, Maddie Roberts, Dusty Robinson, Caelyn Carpenter and Sophia Shannon.
Contestants seeking the princess title are Grace Stine, Amelia Woods, Abby Smith, Ella Redden, Amarah Shannon and Hayleigh Boots.
The reigning Miss Montgomery County Peri McClaskey will crown the new queen and court at the annual contest that will take place at 8 p.m. Saturday in the 4-H building at the fairgrounds, 400 Parke Ave. The doors will open at 7:30 p.m. The admission cost is $5. Children age 5 and younger are admitted at no cost.
QUEEN CONTESTANTS
• Vanessa Schultz is the daughter of Kyle and Marci Schultz. She graduated from North Montgomery High School and will attend Grace College in the fall. She is a 10-year 4-H member. Her projects include goats and consumer clothing. Her extra-curricular activities include Grace and Mercy youth group and Key Club. She also has danced for 16 years and is a dance teacher at Dance Inclusion. She earned grand champion in consumer clothing 2019-2025, graduated with academic and technical honors and earned honor group (top 10) each year.
• Peyton Page is the daughter of Justin and Jessica Page. She is a senior at North Montgomery High School and has been a 4-H member for nine years. Her extra-curricular activities include Youth Civic Engagement Council, National Honor Society (two years), High School Student Ambassador and CNA license recipient through pre-nursing CTE program. She was Hoosier Girls State invitee (2026), YCEC Leadership Skill Award (2026), consistent A/B Honor Roll recipient (2023-2025) and Teacher’s Pick Student of the Year (2022).
• Maddie Roberts is the daughter of Marc and Chelsea Roberts. She is a senior at Southmont High School and has been in 4-H for nine years. Her projects include sheep and cattle. Her extra-curricular activities s include track, cheerleading, cross country, FFA, 4-H, National Honor Society and National Technical Honor Society. She was named Sheep Queen, member appreciation in FFA four times, most improved in cheer and sweetest award in show choir.
• Dusty Robinson is the daughter of Misty Robinson. She graduated from North Montgomery High School and will attend Butler University this fall. She is a 10-year 4-H member. Her extra-curricular activities include Covington First Assembly of God, Key Club, National Honor Society, National Technical Honor Society, Sugar Creek Swim Club, CTE and Ethics Bowl. She has been awarded several Angus breed championships and reached the final drive, recognized as the 2026 Journal Review Female Swimmer of the Year, honored as the NMHS MVP Female Swimmer for 2025 and 2026, recipient of the 2024 NMHS Swim Mental Health Award, secured a second place finish at the 2025 HOSA competition, named an Academic All-American in 2026, and recipient of the Edmond and Martha Lauer, Homer C. Warren Family Trust, Frances E. Gray and John and Ruth Isaacs Family Scholarships in 2026. Additionally, served as an honorary school board member in 2026 and graduated cum laude in May 2026.
• Caelyn Carpenter is the daughter of Doug and Nikki Galloway and Luke Carpenter. She is a senior at North Montgomery High School and has been a 4-H member for nine years. Her projects include fashion revue, floriculture, foods, sewing and swine. Her extra-curricular include: 4-H, varsity basketball, varsity volleyball, Legacy travel basketball, National Honor Society, FCA and a member of Woodland Heights Christian Church. Her wards include three-year varsity letter winner for high school basketball, volleyball and tennis, second team all conference in basketball, second team all conference in tennis, most improved in volleyball, Dick and Rita Atha Memorial Sportsmanship Award, Hoosier Girls State, Miss Montgomery County Princess 2024, Academic All-Conference athlete and multiple champions in fashion revue, floriculture and foods.
• Sophia Shannon is the daughter of Jonathan and Kelly Shannon. She graduated from Southmont High School and will attend Oklahoma State University in the fall. She is a 10-year 4-H member. Her projects include baked foods, preserved foods, sheep, goats, cattle, swine, beekeeping, woodworking, reading for fun, home environment and photography. Her extra-curricular activities include: FFA, National Honor Society and National Technical Honor Society. Her awards include outstanding FFA member in 7th-8th grade, Star Greenhand member in 2023, Star FFA Chapter member in 2024, champion junior goat showman in 2019, champion intermediate goat showman in 2023, reserve champion intermediate sheep showman in 2023 and recognition from Indiana FFA for participation in the Media Room in 2023 and 2024.
PRINCESS CONTESTANTS
• Grace Stine is the daughter of Matt and Rachel Stine. She is a sophomore at North Montgomery High School and has been a 4-H member for seven years. Her extra-curricular activities include Rock Point youth group, Vanity Theater, horseback riding, reading, volunteering at church and diving. She has earned best vocal award in choir and was among the featured farmers at the Indiana State Fair 2025.
• Amelia Woods is the daughter of Michael and Maggie Woods. She is a sophomore at Southmont High School and has been a 4-H member for seven years. Her extra-curricular activities include FFA, volunteering, doing nails, shopping, bedazzling and running. She has earned second place at state as a food science team member, an outstanding service award with Southmont FFA and a mental attitude award in cross country.
• Abby Smith is the daughter of Steve and Rebecca Smith. She is a sophomore at Southmont High School and has been a 4-H member for eight years. Her projects include swine, cattle, floriculture and photography. She also is an FFA member and has earned the member of the year award as well as Star Chapter award.
• Ella Redden is the daughter of Gale and Mary Beth Redden. She is a sophomore at North Montgomery High School and has been a 4-H member for seven years. Her extra-curricular activities include youth group at Liberty Chapel, theater, choir, Girls 4 Girls and cheerleading. She recently earned the choir member of the year award, most spirited award for cheer and the UCA best jumps award in 2025.
• Amarah Shannon is the daughter of Jonathan and Kelly Shannon. She is a senior at Southmont High School and is a nine-year member of 4-H. Her projects include sheep, goats, swine, electrical, photography, floriculture, communications and construction/ architectural replica. Her extra-curricular activities include FFA, National Honor Society, National Technical Honor Society, BPA, student government, cross country, track and field, swimming/diving and volunteering. She earned the Cross Country Mental Attitude Award in 2025, Swimming Mountie Award in 2024, Cross Country Best Newcomer Award in 2023, Overall Electrical Exhibit, first place state and fifth place national FFA Agricultural Ag Communications and Floriculture Judging Team.
• Hayleigh Boots is the daughter of Jason and Lindsey Boots. She is a sophomore at Southmont High School and has been in 4-H seven years. Her projects include dogs, foods, scrapbooking, floriculture, gardening, sewing, fashion revue, photography, entomology and Junior Leaders. Her extra-curricular activities include cross country, tennis, show choir, American Kennel Club, United Kennel Club and FFA. She is the current Canine Queen and dog obedience champion and has earned the cross country leadership and rookie of the year award. She also earned the FFA freshman scholarship and Star Greenhand.
