More than 20 volunteers from the Riverton Parke FFA and Parke Heritage FFA, Honor Society and Interact Club recently assisted Rockville Rotarians prepare the Parke County Community Garden for this year’s plantings. The volunteers spread mulch and painted fence posts around the garden perimeter along with 80 plot stakes. Those assisting included, from left, front row: Leah Clark, Alexis Fisher, Natalie Harkrider, Brooklyn McMullen, Kristan Ward, Michaela Troutman, Emma Swaim, Thomasina Archey and Collin Watson; and back row, Shawn Lewis, Lindsay Whitlow, Carly Harpold, Emily Adams, Rhylie Cannon, Jackson Sciotto and Sophie Sanders. Other volunteers not pictured were William Patton, Parker Grayless, Catrina Roberts, Micah Humphreys, Nash Humphreys, Michaela Woods, Colton McMullen and Mark Harper. The garden is located on the south edge of Rockville along U.S. Highway 41 and is sponsored by the Rockville Rotary Club. All plots have been rented for this year.
