WAYNETOWN — Ready to experience German food and celebrate the fall season? Head to Waynetown from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday for its annual Waynetown Oktoberfest at Tremaine Park. Serving starts at 11 a.m.
Lead organizer Kyle Proctor said the festival continues to grow as do the number of activities.
“We are always looking to add more fun things to do at Oktoberfest,” Proctor said. “We see the festival as a way to celebrate the fall season and to give people a chance to come together before winter.”
The event menu includes brats with all the fixings, goulash, hot dogs, fried bologna, fried Spam sandwiches, fried potatoes, pigs in a blanket, pretzels and apple strudel. Soda, water and freshly squeezed apple cider also will be available. A beer garden will open at 2 p.m.
Activities include carnival games, children’s games, a hay ride, petting zoo and remote control airplane exhibits.
There also will be a Hay Money Grab game for children and a shooting game sponsored by Waynetown Police Department and Blue Gives Back.
Several vendors will be on the festival grounds.
Fire pits will be located in the festival area to keep festival-goers warm.
Live music will be provided on the Freedom Stage. Bone Appitet, a trombone quartet, will play polka music and other styles from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. City Lites will entertain 6-8 p.m.
The festival is the fourth of five in the western Montgomery County community. Christmas in the Park will kick off Dec. 2.
