William Bernard “Bill” Redmond, 72, of Crawfordsville, and formerly of Darlington, gave up the cancer fight and entered the arms of his savior early Sunday morning, Dec. 17, 2023, at home with his wife and family by his side.

Bill was born April 2, 1951, at Culver Hospital. He was the son of the late Bernard Albert Redmond and Maibelle (Price) Redmond.

He graduated from Darlington High School in 1970 and the Kendall School of Design in Grand Rapids Michigan in 1972. Shortly after that he began his career of 45 years at RR Donnelly’s in Crawfordsville, retiring in 2017. In 1978, he married Diana Rufner and together they raised three children, Amanda, Jon and Iva. They later divorced after the children were grown. He later married Kathy Griffin in 2014 and helped her raise her three teenage sons, Michael, Just and Kaleb.

Bill had a love of motorcycles and had several over the years until he had to give it up after his last wreck. He loved going on rides through the countryside and feeling free (of course no helmet). He is now riding a Harley once again and looking down on us with a smile as he is totally free.

He is survived by wife Kathy; daughters, Amanda Schwartz of Cassopolis, Michigan, and Iva Riley of Culver, Oregon; son Jon of Tilton, Illinois; step-children, Michael, Justin and Kaleb Griffin, all of Crawfordsville; sister Jayne Redmond of Lafayette; six grandchildren, Ericha and Hunter Redmond, Maddie and Ella Hudson and Devan and Conner Riley; and five step-grandchildren, Kobe, Lily, Jean, Henry, Lilly Avalynn and Lyric Gene.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday at Hunt & Son Funeral Home, with visitation beginning at noon. Burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery, Darlington.

He is now without pain. Resting peacefully. May his friends and family find comfort and joy in the cherished memories they hold dear.

Condolences and memories may be shared at www.huntandson.com.
