Thanks & More

Zacharys express gratitude for dinner help

Posted

For all the great people God sent our way to donate their time, talent, food, monetary donations or anyway they might have helped, we are very grateful. We had another successful year and we served around 878 Thanksgiving meals this year. God continues to bless us every year with the right people to help us in every way possible.

It is amazing how different each year has been with different challenges to face and still watching it all come together. This year we served less than the past few years, hoping that it was due to people spending time with family. Every year we have some new volunteers and some volunteers who have helped for many years. We know that without God’s help this wonderful Thanksgiving dinner would not be possible. To God be the glory!

We served around 102 meals inside and around 786 meals between take-out and deliveries. It was great to see all the people fill the room and enjoy the fellowship, good music and good food. Thank you to pastor JR Rouse for the wonderful prayer before the meal, the great singer, Don Baker, performing to make the atmosphere even better.

To the advertisers to get the word out, the florist with the  beautiful centerpieces and the volunteers who gave up their time on Wednesday and on Thanksgiving and all the people and businesses donating money and food. We would like to thank those that wish to remain anonymous for their donations or anyone who gave without us knowing your name or address.

We would like to give a big thanks to the people who are there every year to take care of certain things to make everything run smoother, too many to mention and don’t want to leave anyone out. Also, the more we grow the more food we need, which means lots of turkeys cooked. We had 72 turkeys cooked this year and Rick Warner has been so helpful the last few years to cook so many for us.

We would like to thank the First United Methodist Church for the use of their building and facilities along with the volunteers to prepare and serve this meal for so many people on Thanksgiving day.

Thank you, so much, everyone and we wish you a very Merry Christmas and a happy new year.
