LEXINGTON, Kentucky — The American Legion Baseball powers made a late decision and allowed Valparaiso Post 94 to participate in the Lexington Great Lakes Regional. Valparaiso was allowed to call up players from their junior varsity.

On Wednesday, Post 94 was forced to forfeit their first regional game to Terre Haute Post 11 after the discovery was made that Valparaiso had ineligible players compete in the Terre Haute State Tournament.

Post 94 defeated Washington, Missouri Post 218 4-0 in Thursday’s elimination game against Washington, Missouri Post 218 on Thursday.

Also on Thursday, Terre Haute Post 11 lost 8-7 in eight innings to Owensboro, Kentucky Post 9. Terre Haute was unable to hang on to an early 4-0 lead.

Friday’s scheduled games were Terre Haute playing Aviston, Illinois Post 1239 and Valparaiso playing the loser of game 8 played early Friday.
