Barbara D. Hartman Sollars was born May 26, 1945, at Terre Haute, to Norris Dean and Jeanette Hartman. She died June 2, 2021, peacefully in her own home with her family by her side.

As a young girl, she lived with her family in Bridgeton. Her father surrendered to preach in 1952 and went to Bible College in Chattanooga, Tennessee. They moved to Lodi in 1956 and Dean Hartman was the pastor of Waterman Baptist Church. She attended Tangier Grade School and Turkey Run High School. During this time she met Joe Sollars Jr. They were married May 29, 1962. He became a preacher in 1965 and also attended Tennessee Temple Bible College. She was a preacher’s kid and a pastor’s wife most of her life, but she didn’t get saved until about six years ago, and she had perfect peace about going to Heaven.

Barbara is survived by her husband, Joe in Milton, Florida; three daughters, Darla Weinz and husband, John in Saint Cloud, Florida, Deanna Ivins and husband Ken in Chattanooga, Tennessee, and Danielle Sollars and friend Chris in Milton, Florida; dad Dean Hartman in Linton; sister Diane Owens in Linton; half-brother Dwight Hartman in Nashville, Tennessee; half-sister Karen Davis in Athens, Georgia; five grandsons, Brady Stafford, Alex Stafford, Harrison Ivins, Seth Sollars and Dylan Sollars; two granddaughters, Brooke Safford and Kendra Ivins; and four great-grandsons.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Jeanette Hartman; daughter Rosetta Dawn Sollars; and brother John Hartman.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday, June 7 at Faith Baptist Church in Milton, Florida. Visitation will be at 10 a.m. Flowers may be sent to Trahan Family Funeral Home, 6539 Trammel Drive, Milton, FL 32570. She will be buried at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 9 at Poplar Grove Cemetery, one mile north of Marshall. Flowers may be sent to Frist Funeral Home, 458 Blackman St., Clinton, IN 47842.
