Speedway Post 500 has dropped out of the Terre Haute American Legion Baseball Regional forcing a change in the brackets. The double-elimination tournament will now start Friday instead of Thursday and consist of four teams.
Byron Cox Post 72 will play at 7:30 p.m. against first-year team Elberfeld Post 351.
The 5 p.m. game will feature Terre Haute Post 346 playing Jasper Post 47.
Friday winners will meet at noon Saturday. Friday losers will meet at 2:30 p.m. Saturday.
The championship game will be played at noon Sunday with the potential to play a second championship game following the first game, if the losing bracket team wins the first game Sunday.
Elberfeld enters the tournament with a 1-10 record. The post is located in Warrick County in southwest Indiana. The team’s only win was against Jasper. Post 72 defeated Elberfeld 3-0 on June 21 at Evansville Bosse High School.
Thunder 103.9 FM will broadcast Byron Cox Post 72 games in the regional.
