Megan Ewoldt
Megan Ewoldt is a relationship representative at Hoosier Heartland State Bank. She has resided in Montgomery County for
30 years.
For fun, she likes to travel, spend time with family, and hangout with her five dogs and one cat. Ewoldt has four older brothers, eight nieces and nephews and three great nieces and nephews.
“Jack and Diane” by John Mellencamp makes her always sing along.
Her reaction when she was asked to be a Star was surprise and fear. Ewoldt decided to participate in the fundraiser because she hadn’t heard about the Youth Service Bureau before she attended Dancing with the Montgomery County Stars in 2023 for the first time, so she wanted to be able to have a bigger part of supporting the YSB and help support the children and upcoming future of Montgomery County.
She stated that the public should come to this event and support her and Skylar because “it’s such a fun event for Montgomery County to host in the heart of Crawfordsville at Wabash College and it’s even better because we are all raising so much money for a great local cause.”
Skylar Stevenson
Skylar Stevenson is the owner of Stevenson’s Ace Hardware, Stevenson Mattress Co. and now Superior Moving and Storage. He was raised in Crawfordsville until he moved to Indianapolis to pursue other business adventures. He said Montgomery County will always be home and a community where he is grateful to operate his businesses.
In his spare time, he can be found on the lake with his “lake family,” relaxing, traveling to St. Pete, or catching up at work. Stevenson has been blessed with great parents, Jack and Pam Stevenson, three sisters and brothers-in-law, nine nieces and nephews, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and his dog, Shilah, who all support him and his “crazy ideas,” including being a part of Dancing with the Montgomery County Stars.
The song that always makes him get up and dance or sing along is “Don’t Stop Believing,” although anything that has a good beat or is fun.
His reaction when asked to be a Star was how did he have the time to add something else to his schedule. Then, he changed his attitude and focused on the cause.
Stevenson decided to participate in the YSB fundraiser because “I would say Karen Branch, (the executive director). I have been on the Chamber Board of Directors with Karen and learned about the YSB over the last several years. This past Christmas season, Karen gave me a tour of the facility on Pike Street, and I was amazed at all the different programs offered to the community youth.
“I knew at the end that the YSB was truly a special place, and one of the many reasons why Montgomery County would be a better place for the next generation was because of the programs offered and the caring atmosphere created by the staff. It also aligns with one of our core values at Stevenson’s and how we are committed to helping make our community a better place.”
He believes the public should attend this event and support him and Ewoldt because “it’s good to have moral support, but the event is truly about the youth of this community. The event is a fun atmosphere and a place to forget about the real world for an evening. It’s an experience where everyone is focused on the greater good of Montgomery County through the YSB, and the energy is electrifying!”
