Charles Junior England, 76, passed away Friday, May 22, 2020, at Franciscan Health Lafayette.
He was born Oct. 4, 1943, at Mt. Hermon, Kentucky, to the late James William and Mildred S. (Smith) England.
Charles graduated from New Ross High School in 1961. He married the love of his life Nancy Louise Nelson on Sept. 16, 1963, at Crawfordsville. He retired after 20 years from the maintenance department at Walmart Distribution Center. He enjoyed fishing, NASCAR and spending time with family, especially going on vacations to Florida and Kentucky. His favorite sports teams were the UK Wildcats, Chicago Cubs and the Raiders.
Charles is survived by his wife, Nancy; three sons, Charles (Mary), Troy (Marcia) and Richard (Barb) England; daughter Julie (Gary) England; five sisters, Brenda Baker, Jan (Rick) Ford, Mary (Alan) Baker, Judy (Steve) French and Helen Pettigrew; 15 grandchildren, Joshua, Shawn, TJ England, Brittany Archer, Levi, Joshua Campbell, Brodie, Brooklyn England, Christian Stidham, Kayla Amburgey, Matthew Dunlap, Kayla Larsh, Kassandra, Kaitlinn Pence and Kevin Maxwell; 26 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Charles is preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Mildred “Marie,” Mary Lauren and Carolyn Sue England; and two brothers, William “Bill” and Samuel “Lon” England.
Visitation will be at Sanders Priebe Funeral Care, 315 S. Washington St., Crawfordsville, on Saturday, June 6 from 11 a.m. until the time of funeral service at 1 p.m., with Pastor Mark Roberts officiating. Social distancing is expected and limited numbers will be allowed to enter at a time. The service will be live-streamed and recorded, which can be viewed on Charles’s obituary page at www.sandersfuneralcare.com. Cremation will follow the service with burial of cremains at Indian Creek Hill Cemetery at a later date.
