Cheryl Lynn Jones Stone, 69, of rural Veedersburg passed away at 10:50 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 27, 2020, in her home, following a lengthy illness.

She was born April 7, 1951, at Lafayette, daughter of the late Wayne and Roselean Jonas Jones. She married Danny Stone on Oct. 1, 1970, at Crawfordsville. He survives.

Cheryl’s family moved from West Point to New Richmond in 1960 and she graduated from Coal Creek Central High School. She worked in Lafayette for several years at CTS and HiTech Lighting. In 1977, she opened an upholstery shop near Wingate. Her family moved to rural Veedersburg and she continued her upholstery business until her health prevented her from working.

Cheryl was a very talented, hard working woman. Along with her husband, family/friends proudly constructed their home from scratch between, Veedersburg and Mellott. She was a talented quilter, excelled at upholstery and woodworking.

Surviving, along with her husband Danny, are daughter Alisa “Lisa” (Keith) Gabbard of West Terre Haute and son Mike Stone (Cara Clodfelter) of Bloomingdale; grandchildren, Jacob, Kyle, Colten, Keivan, Aleck and Cassey Baggs, Amanda, James and Joshua; great-grandchildren, McKenzie, Remington, Willow, Gavin, Kahllen, Emma and Audrey; sister Cathy (Dennis) Phillips of rural Crawfordsville; and three brothers, Kevin Jones of Lafayette, Craig (Dee Dee) Jones of Linden and Brian Jones (Lora Hughes) of New Richmond.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 30 at Family and Friends Home of Wingate. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 31 at the funeral home, with Bill Lutgen officiating. Burial will follow at New Richmond Cemetery. Please follow the COVID recommendations set forth by the Indiana State Board of Health and please wear a mask when attending.
