West Central Indiana Career & Technical Education is again preparing for this year’s Student Job Fair and Community Expo on April 4 at Crawfordsville High School.

More than 1,000 high school juniors and seniors from Crawfordsville, North Montgomery, Southmont and Western Boone will be in attendance. Students will be looking for a variety of postsecondary opportunities at the event, including full- and part-time employment, internships and apprenticeships, seasonal jobs and technical training.

“Career preparation is an important part of West Central IN CTE’s mission,” said Sara Nicodemus, director of CTE. “All West Central IN CTE students participate in resume-building workshops and mock interview experiences to help coach positive employability skills. The Student Job Fair and Community Expo allows students to put those learned abilities to practice, and find employment and training opportunities for after high school graduation.”

New this year is the addition of a Community Expo. Local organizations in Montgomery and Boone counties are encouraged to register their participation to promote scholarships, volunteerism and non-profit involvement for young adults.

“Bringing employers, training partners and local organizations together in one place gives students a big picture look at what exists in their communities,” said Samantha Cotten, student and stakeholder engagement specialist. “The high-quality opportunities available in our communities often surprise our recent graduates. We want to do our part to enhance our local talent pipelines, and also set students up for successful futures.”

There is no cost to participate. Registration is available at www.westcentralcte.org, and at

@westcentralcte on Facebook and Instagram. Registration will close March 15. Organizations can direct questions to Samantha Cotten at scotten@cville.k12.in.us.
