Damon Edward Kelsey, 71, of West Lafayette passed away Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2021, at the Indiana Veterans Home.

He was born Sept. 14, 1949, at Crawfordsville, to the late Lawrence and Mary Katherine (Crowder) Kelsey.

Damon graduated from Coal Creek Central High School and Purdue University’s Krannert School of Management. He served in the Army.

On Feb. 23 1980, he married Janice Rule. She preceded him in death Oct. 13, 2004.

Damon was an insurance agent for Equitable Insurance for 27 years before retiring in 2004. He was a member of  Central Presbyterian Church, the Breakfast Optimist Club and enjoyed watching and cheering for Purdue athletics.

Surviving are daughter Nicole (David) Buskill of Indianapolis; sons, Scott (Melissa) Kelsey of Indianapolis and Brian (Misty) Kelsey of West Lafayette; three brothers, Larry (Judi) Kelsey of Lafayette, Rex (Nancy) Kelsey of Lebanon and Chuck (Rita) Kelsey of New Richmond; and six grandchildren, Peyton, Emma, Aiden, Owen, Lillian and Ethan.

A private family service with military rights will take place. Burial will follow next to his wife at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, those wishing may contribute in Damon’s name to your favorite veterans organization or Central Presbyterian Church.
