Pastor David Allen Finch, 69, of Crawfordsville went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, Nov. 5, 2022, at Franciscan Health Lafayette. 

He was born May 9, 1953, at Lebanon, to the late Morris Emmert and Helen Loraine (Douglass) Finch.

David graduated from Waynetown High School in 1971 and earned his bachelor’s degree from Kentucky Christian University. David grew up as an old farm boy and the Lord blessed him with many opportunities to serve in many states. He was in ministry for over 40 years and was currently the Senior Pastor at Browns Valley Christian Church for the last 11 years. He has always had a deep love for missions as well, especially in Mexico and Belarus. He and his late wife, Dorma, served as Directors of Spanish American Evangelistic Ministries in El Paso, Texas.

He loved the outdoors and enjoyed shooting guns, hunting, reading, farming, was a John Wayne fan, and loved spending time with his family.   

On Sept.17, 1972, he married Dorma Winger, who preceded him in death Dec. 21, 2011. He married Paula Livesay on Dec. 28, 2019, who survives. 

He also leaves behind two sons, Nathaniel Barrett (fiancé  Katie Morrison) Finch and Benjamin David (Latisha Grace) Finch; four step-children, Cari (Jonathan) Marquez, Will (Jana) Livesay, Garret (Crystal) Livesay and Mark (Kami) Livesay; two brothers, Morris (Sandyra) Finch Jr. and Lloyd (Donna) Finch; sister Mary Jane (George) King; 20 grandchildren, Ashley, Jamie, Haley, Danny, Dawson, Jeffrey, Jadon, Rosie, Jackson, Callie, Jory, Jasher, Nathaniel, Gabriel, Ezra, Stella, Jasper, Joy, Adelynn, and Claire; six great grandchildren, Michael, Phenix, Autumn, Elena, Olivia and Camilla; and several nieces and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by his parents and his first wife, Dorma. 

Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 10 at Browns Valley Christian Church, 9011 S. State Road 47, Crawfordsville.  The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 11 at the church, with Pastor Justin Bullock officiating. The service will be live-streamed and recorded which can be viewed on his obituary page at www.SandersFuneralCare.com. Burial will follow at Waynetown Masonic Cemetery.
