Donald Frank Sabens passed on to be with his Lord and Savior on Feb. 21, 2024, at Broward Health Medical Center Vitas Hospice, Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
He was born Oct. 20, 1942, at Crawfordsville, to Mitchell and Martha (Surface) Sabens.
He attended and graduated from Ladoga High School. He was an Air Force veteran. He graduated Johnson Bible College at Knoxville, Tennessee, with a bachelor of arts ministerial degree. He preformed as minister in the Christian faith, was a lifetime builder/carpenter and retiree from Alcoa CSI.
He married Sharyn (Vannice) Adams; they divorced (1988); she survives. He married Cynthia (Stemick) Fitzsimmons (1992) and she survives.
His children are Greg (Cheryl) Sabens, Tim (Lisa) Sabens and Sarah (Leo) Pinchin. Also, Mike Fitzsimmons and Shelly (Tony) (Fitzsimmons) Bailey. His brothers are Fred (Donna) Sabens, and Mike (Jane) Sabens. He had 12 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and younger brother John Sabens.
Don was an exceptionally kind and giving man. He enjoyed life and anyone that was in his life.
Don’s wishes were to be cremated with no services. Please remember Don as you knew him and pass on those God-given gifts to others. All praise, glory and honor be to our God the Father, His Son Jesus Christ and His helper given to us, the Holy Spirit.
