Ethel K. Calvert, 101, of Waveland passed away Saturday, Jan. 9, 2021, at Wellbrooke of Crawfordsville.
She was born Jan. 21, 1919, at Paris, Illinois, to the late Luther B. and Bertha A. (Black) Anderson.
Ethel married Charles Calvert in 1937 at Greencastle. He preceded her in death in 1992. She loved to sew and knit; over the years she made many hats and blankets for people. She enjoyed traveling, doing things for others, and spending time with her family. She will be greatly missed by all of those she leaves behind.
She is survived by three daughters, Marilyn (Allan) Harris of Crawfordsville, Carolyn Busey of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, and Joyce (Harvey) Gilland of Waveland; brother Frank Anderson; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and many great-great-grandchildren.
Ethel was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son Dale Calvert; brothers, Harold and John Anderson; and sisters, Helen Boller, Betty Allen and Nellie France.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 13, 2021, at Machledt & Servies Funeral Home, 301 E. Green St., Waveland, with Pastor Rodney Coffman officiating. Ethel will be laid to rest next to her husband in Maple Ridge Cemetery. Friends are invited to visit with the family from noon until time of service on Wednesday at the funeral home. Masks are required and social distancing is expected to be followed.
