George E. Million passed from this life Sunday morning, Jan. 26, 2020, at the home of his daughter.
George was born Sept. 1, 1938, in Lee County, Kentucky, the son of Henry Richard and Mildred Pearl (nee Worthington) Million. The family moved to Indiana and George attended Wallace High School before becoming a member of the Navy in 1956. George married Vonda G. Long and they raised a family in Fountain and Montgomery counties while he worked as a union carpenter. He loved to build things, working with his hands, observing nature and playing cards at the Crawfordsville Moose Lodge #6.
George is survived by and greatly missed by his wife, Vonda of Crawfordsville; sons, Garth (wife Gloria) Million, Randal (wife Lou) Million and Brad Plank and daughter Renee (husband Garry) Miller, all of Crawfordsville. He also leaves behind brothers, Bill of Stone Bluff, Indiana, and Johnny of Georgia; sisters, Judy Denney of Lafayette and Cathy Doster of Georgia. He will be missed by 10 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers; and two sisters.
Funeral services for George will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 1 at Shoemaker Funeral Home, 202 Bratton Road, Waynetown. Burial will follow in the Wallace Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. Saturday until the time of the services.
