Glen Edward Taylor, 86, of Crawfordsville went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, March 17, 2023, at Franciscan Health in Crawfordsville.

He was born July 8, 1936, in Montgomery County to the late Charles Taylor and Iva (Sipple) Newby.

Glen attended Ladoga High School and proudly served his country in the United States Navy. He worked from the time he was 12 years old but retired after 20-plus years as a custodian at Wabash College. He had a great sense of humor and was always joking around. He would literally give you his last dime and “clip.” He was always tinkering with something and loved riding around on his hover round wearing his hi-visible vest flying his American flag. He also loved animals, was always helping others, was active in his church at Grace & Mercy, and loved spending time with this family. He was one of the sweetest men you could ever meet.

He is survived by his four daughters, Melissa (Doug Lejeune) Howard, Romona Royal, Glenna (Tim) Florence and Ragena Taylor; brother Curtis (Wendy) Newby; sister Alma Hole; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other family members.

He was preceded in death by father Charles Taylor; mother Iva Newby; step-father Charles Newby; son Joseph Taylor; daughter Vikki Hoke; two sisters, Helen Williams and Betty Stonebraker; and brother-in-law William Hole.

Cremation was chosen with a visitation at Grace & Mercy Ministries, 257 W. Oak Hill Road, Crawfordsville, on Saturday, March 25 from noon until the time of the memorial service at 2 p.m. Pastor Nathan Miller will officiate. Military honors conducted by the United States Navy and Legion Post 72 Honor Guard.
