Marilyn C. Fowler, 98, of Westfield passed away peacefully with her son by her side at 11:57 a.m. Saturday, June 5, 2021, at Copper Trace in Westfield.

Marilyn was a selfless, loving woman who always put others first and never wanted to burden anyone. She was a devoted Christian, mother, homemaker, farm owner and teacher’s aide.

She was born March 6, 1923, in West Union, Indiana, north of Montezuma to the late Boyd Collings and Fannie Hadley Collings.

Her husband, Edward R. Fowler, whom she married in Clinton, Indiana, preceded her in death August 1978.

Survivors include: son Robert and his wife Lisa of Westfield; two grandchildren, Jason (Erica) Fowler of Carmel and Chelsey Fowler of Noblesville; and two great-grandchildren, Eleanor and Griffin Fowler of Carmel.

She was a graduate of Mecca High School and a member of the Waveland Christian Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; and three brothers, Duane Collings, Rupert Collings and Winston Collings; and sister Eloise Thomas.

The family would like to thank the staff at Copper Trace for the loving care that was provided to her. Visitation will be held noon to 2 p.m. Thursday, June 10 at Gooch Funeral Home, 112 W. Howard St., Rockville. Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. by Chaplain Ron May. Burial will follow at Memory Garden Cemetery, Rockville.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Marilyn’s memory should friends so desire may be made to a charity of their choice.
