Marjorie Joan Brown, 79, of Tangier passed away Saturday, April 4, 2020, at her residence.

Born April 25, 1940, at her home, she was the daughter of J. Volna and Laura Marks McCoy. She is survived by her husband of 61 years Rodger P. Brown, whom she married Aug. 24, 1958.

She was a born again Christian, a member of Countryside Baptist Church and a 1958 graduate of Tangier High School. Marjorie was a farm housewife, worked at RCN Rebuilt Products for 17 plus years and was a guest registration agent-front desk clerk at Turkey Run State Park Inn, where she retired after 25 years.

She enjoyed being outdoors, flowers and gardening. She especially enjoyed her grandchildren, Steve Lientz of Colorado, Jeremy Brown of Tangier, Kelly (Brad) Thompson of Rockville, Rusty P. (Kaymi) Brown of Colorado; and great-grandchildren, Brent of Colorado and Ben of Rockville.

Other survivors include: her husband, Rodger Brown of Tangier; son Brian P. Brown of Tangier; daughter Laura J. Brown of Tangier; sister Marilyn McCoy Crum (Kermit) of Kingman; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Marjorie is preceded in death by her parents; sister Roberta McCoy Mershon; brother-in-law John Mershon; and daughter-in-law Kimberly A. Brown.

Private graveside services will be held Wednesday, April 8 at the Kingman Fraternal Cemetery, with Pastor Tim Johnson officiating. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Barnes and Rice Funeral Home of Rockville assisted with arrangements.
