Martha Rogers, 86, of Crawfordsville passed away at 2:55 a.m. March 19, 2023, at the Ben Hur Nursing Home.
Born June 11, 1936, at Crawfordsville, she was the daughter of Clarence Arison Weaver and Esther Ann (Willhite) Weaver. She first married Everett Phelps and they divorced. She then married James A. Rogers Sr. on July 20, 1963. He passed away Nov. 1, 2011.
Survivors include: son James “Arnie” (Donna) Rogers Jr. of Crawfordsville; step-daughter Deborah Kay Rush (fiancé Roger Ratscer) of West End, North Carolina; sister Norma Poe of Crawfordsville; three grandsons; granddaughter; many step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by husband James A. Rogers Sr.; two sons, Randy J. Phelps and Russell W. Phelps; her parents; sisters, Patricia Hill and Russell Carol Gooding; and step-grandson Matthew Northcutt.
She was a graduate of Marshall High School and worked at RR Donnelley and Sons in addition to being a homemaker.
Calling hours will be 4-7 p.m. Thursday at Burkhart Funeral Home, 201 W. Wabash Ave., Crawfordsville. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, March 24, with Pastor Gary Edwards officiating. Burial will be at the New Richmond Cemetery.
