Local residents will see increased traffic starting today when pro motocross fans from across the globe descend on Crawfordsville. The 250 MX Class and 450 MX Class season races are tight. Champions will be crowned depending on moto finishes at this weekend’s Ironman Pro MX event. The 11-race 2026 season schedule, which started May 30 in California, will end in Crawfordsville with the championships up for grabs.
The 450 Class race is between brothers Hunter and Jett Lawrence. Last week at Buds Creek, Michigan Jett crashed enabling Hunter to move into first place for the season championship standings. The 11-point swing moved Hunter back atop the championship standings heading into Saturday’s race, with he and Jett separated by a single point. It signified the sixth time the points lead has changed hands between the siblings this summer.
Hunter and Jett compete well at Ironman as they led Team Australia to the Motocross of Nations championship held in Crawfordsville last October.
The 250 Class season championship will also be on the line. Last week at Budds Creek a similar large point leap placed Cole Davies atop the field. The 15-point swing in the championship moves Davies back atop the point standings heading into the final round, where he’ll hold a 14-point lead over Kitchen for the last two motos of the season this Saturday at Ironman Raceway.
Teams will enter Ironman beginning at 9:30 a.m. with gates opening at noon.
