Patricia L. “Pat” Renick of Crawfordsville, formerly of Indianapolis, passed away following an auto accident in Boone County. She was 71.

Pat was a retired teacher at the Indiana School for the Blind. She was the chaperone for the school wrestling team and traveled with them to many tournaments in several different states. She was a 1967 graduate of Darlington High School and attended Indiana State, graduating from IUPUI. Over the years, she was awarded the Governor’s Award for state employees and named a Kentucky Colonel.

Born May 1, 1949, at Lafayette, she was the daughter of Wilbert Renick Sr. and Elsie Renick. Her parents preceded her in death.

Surviving family includes: three brothers, Bert (Marianne) Renick, Jerry (Mary Jane) Renick and Darrell (Karen) Renick; sister Lana Renick (Dena Simpson); along with her nieces and nephews.

A memorial graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 17 at the Greenlawn Cemetery, Darlington, led by her nephew, Chris Renick. The family requests that all CDC guidelines are observed for COVID-19 protocol.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Legion Auxiliary Scholarship Fund, 101 Walter Remley Drive, Crawfordsville, IN 47933.
