Robert Eugene Krout, 75, of Crawfordsville passed away Friday, Dec. 6, 2019, at home.
He was born Jan. 21, 1944, at Crawfordsville, to the late Raymond A. and Ernestine Jeannette (Cain) Krout.
Robert graduated from Darlington High School and proudly served his country in the United States Army. On July 22, 1965, he married Mary Ann Thompson. They later divorced. On Nov. 24, 1996, he married Ella Mae (McKinney), who preceded him in death on Dec. 22, 2012.
Robert owned and operated Krout & Sons Painting for over 50 years and also worked at California Pellet Mill and Raybestos. Bob was a hard worker and enjoyed bowling, shooting pool, softball and coached a women’s softball team.
He is survived by daughter Tina Krout; son Tony Krout; step-son Jeff (Diana) Beard; brother Kenny Krout; six grandchildren, Tony Greer, Chandelle King-Krout, Lainey Conway, Kylee Spencer, Robert (A.J) Krout and Jeffrey Beard; six great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents; wife Ella; son Troy Krout; step-dad Don Surface; and brother Rodney Krout.
Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 13 at Sanders Priebe Funeral Care, 315 S. Washington St., Crawfordsville. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 14 with military honors by the National Guard and Legion Post 72 Honor Guard. Burial will follow at Oak Hill North Cemetery.
