Ruth Anna Link, 76, of Waveland passed away Monday, July 10, 2023, at Franciscan Health in Lafayette.
She was born Jan. 14, 1947, at Waveland, to the late Quinton and Martha Jean (McNabb) James. She graduated from Turkey Run High School with the Class of 1965.
Ruth worked at RR Donnelley’s & Sons for over 30 years and was still currently working before she passed away. She enjoyed going to sporting events to watch her grandchildren and great grandchildren play. She also enjoyed Girl Scouts, camping, sewing, cooking and spending time with her family. Ruth was a member of Freedom Baptist Church, and most recently attended Waveland Christians in Action.
Those she leaves behind are her three children, Jerry (Sheryl) Link, Sherry Rena (John) Uplinger and Larry Link; grandchildren, Dallas (Thomas Hartman) Uplinger, Walker Uplinger, Hunter Uplinger, Elizabeth (Mason Cody) Link, Logan Link and Emily Link; great-grandchildren, Maleigha Uplinger and Wesley Cody; siblings, Dee (Tom) Hunt, Debbie (Denny) Deplanty, Betsy (Larry) Teall, Mary Lu (Jack) Reynolds, June James, Sue (Fred) Harris; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Christina Whitney and Gladys Brown; and her former husband, Gerald Link.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Friday, July 14 at Machledt & Servies Funeral Home, 301 E. Green St., Waveland, with Pastor Rodney Coffman officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Ridge Cemetery. Friends may gather for visitation 4-8 p.m. Thursday, July 13 at the funeral home.
