Tanya Wilhite of West Lafayette passed away Monday night, Feb. 19, 2024, at Franciscan Health of Greenwood. She was 54.
Tanya started as an analytical research technician at Great Lakes Chemical, later transitioning to Chemtura and then in 2017 to Lanxess. She held various roles within the global organization and emerged as a pillar of expertise in her field of SAP Quality Management and Quality Systems.
Born April 28, 1969, at Crawfordsville, she was the daughter of Dwight Wilhite and Arleen Lowe Wilhite. She graduated from Southmont High School and attended Purdue University, where she earned a bachelor of science degree in cellular and developmental biology.
Surviving family includes: mother Arleen Wilhite; sister Dawn Teague with her husband, Greg and their children, Mackenzie (Ben) Large and Emma Teague; brother Chad Wilhite with his wife, Adrienne and their children, Drew Wilhite, Audrey (Ethan) Frost with son, Rohen and step-son, Aidan Vanderkleed, Logan Wilhite; brother Thad Wilhite and his wife, Carri and their children, Luke and Samuel Wilhite; and half-sister, Kristen Collins with her husband, Travis and their children, Fredd and Christopher.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents and father.
Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Monday, Feb. 26 at Burkhart Funeral Home, 201 W. Wabash Ave., Crawfordsville. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, led by Pastor Andrew Guthrie.
