Marshall Templeman competed this past week at the 2026 TYR Futures Swimming Championship in Greensboro North Carolina. The Sugar Creek Swim Club qualifier swam in three metered events in the four-day meet. His events were the 50, 100 and 200 breaststroke.
Templeman placed 28th in the 50 breaststroke.
Templeman finished 25th in the 100 breaststroke with a SCSC record breaking 1:06.08, dropping .82 from his personal best time and less than .2 away from the Winter Junior National time standard.
The highlight of the meet was Templeman’s ninth place finish in the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:23.80, again breaking his own SCSC team record and a 2.33 second time drop. His time was a Winter Junior National qualifying time, his first and SCSC’s first since Missy Robinson in 2011.
The meet concluded a successful SCSC summer season with four SCSC swimmers, Dusty Robinson, Henry Hoar, Paxton Burris and Templeman competing in the Senior State Championships.
The swim club had three age group state competitors, Karah Sankey, Liam Bernhardt and Hunter Burge.
The SCSC winter season will start on Sept. 8. For more information call 765-364-3247.
