The Parke County REMC Multi-County Community Trust Board met in March and awarded $16,837 to five area nonprofits through the Operation Round Up program.
• Family Support Services of West Central Indiana – $4,100
Funds will be used to purchase materials for the Operation Brain Building Program, which provides developmentally appropriate resources that support children’s growth and learning.
• Boys & Girls Club of Montgomery County – $4,000
Funds will support the purchase of supplies for the Healthy Habit 2026 Summer Camp, serving approximately 150 children. Supplies include materials for gardening, physical education, and nutrition education.
• Rosedale Youth Baseball/Softball – $4,000
Funds will be used to improve ballfield drainage, reducing rain-related game cancellations, and improving overall field conditions.
• Rotary Club of Rockville – $3,000
Funds will assist with installing a new roof and expanding the current building, providing additional space and educational opportunities for the community.
• Bellmore Volunteer Fire Department – $1,737
Funds will be used to purchase two portable Generac generators and heavy-duty extension-cord reels, enabling the department to operate additional tools and equipment at fire and rescue scenes.
Thank you to the more than 9,000 Parke County REMC members who agree to have their monthly electric bills “rounded up” to the nearest dollar each month. This money is then placed in a trust to be awarded by an all-volunteer board of Parke County REMC members.
The application deadline for the next cycle is June 2. Applications are available at Parke County REMC, www.pcremc.com, or by calling 765-569-3133 or 800-537-3913.
